ATTENTION ALL YOUTH BASEBALL PLAYERS AND PARENTS IN MARYSVILLE AS WELL AS OTHER TOWNS IN MARSHALL CO AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES OF WASHINGTON AND NEMAHA

The goal of this organization is to offer a cost effective local option for families who want their son to play baseball in a competitive environment.

 

OUR MISSION:

To provide an organizational structure for coaches and players to play baseball in a competitive environment that is affordable and promotes player development.

 

OUR VISION:

To field at least one competitive team in each single age division (8u-14u) each year.

 

OUR VALUES:

We believe that player development is best achieved with access to coaches and teammates with similar goals. Development best occurs when a player’s skills are comisurate with their teammates’ and can be tested against similar competition in a competitive environment.

WHEN DOES IT START?

Teams that elect to hold tryouts will do so in July and August of 2021 for the 2022 season.  Private tryouts may be arranged with individual coaches if needed. Play will begin in the Spring/Summer of 2022. Teams may choose to play in tournaments in Marysville, Manhattan, Lincoln, Omaha, Kansas City or any points in between. We have knowledge of many different tournament options that are either 1 or 2 day events and can make suggestions on where to play to minimize travel expenses. Also, local games can be scheduled as needed against other baseball clubs in the area and the SCBC can help facilitate this.

 

DOES IT COST MONEY TO TRY OUT?

Absolutely not!

WHAT ARE THE PLAYER FEES?

The cost is $200 per player. This covers cost of hat, jersey, and tournament fees. Pants/belts, shoes, etc are not included.

IS FUNDRAISING REQUIRED?

Yes. The player fees often do not cover the cost of all of the expenses depending on how many events your team wants to play. Teams will be responsible to fundraise what ever expenses are incurred beyond what is covered by player fees. Teams may choose to fundraise by any means they prefer.

 

WHAT IS THE AGE CUTOFF?

The age cutoff is April 30. For example: for the 2022 season, if your son turns 12 on or before April 30 2022, he would play 12u. If your son turns 12 on or after May 1 2022, he would be eligible to play 11u.  However, a grade exemption does exist.  For example, if  your son turns 12 on or before April 30, he is eligible to play 11u IF HE IS IN THE 5TH GRADE during the 2021-22 school year.

 

DO TEAMS NEED TO PAY A FEE TO THE SCBC?

No. This organization has been created to provide opportunity and development to youth baseball players in the area. Unlike many baseball clubs/academies, the SCBC (Storm Chasers Baseball Club) is not in this to make any money!
